[Here Luceti, have another New Feather. A young man with silver wings, wearing a strange mask and with only the thin pants of the newcomers to protect him from the world is currently just waking up in the forest not too far from the village. If you could see his face you'd see just how groggy and confused he is right now. He flinches a little as he realises there's a couple of new additions to his body upon coming to... wherever he is right now, and he reaches behind him to feel... feathers? Wings?

Thankfully it isn't long before he realises his clothes are piled up beside him, along with a book. Gin knows it's dangerous to be so exposed and doesn't hesitate to put on those clothes, strangely altered to accommodate those small wings on his back. Who did this to him? Where was he? He was certain by now this wasn't the forest of the Mountain God, unless he was trying to play some kind of trick on him.

Now for that book... Gin picks it up, taking a seat on the forest floor where he appeared and taking a moment to flick through the pages. The book was full of messages and pictures, presumably the ones who were trying to communicate. Some of the images moved as well and there were voices... the book was speaking to him.]

[After taking some time to try to get to know this odd journal and how it might work, Gin ends up trying to speak to the book himself.]

Hello? Can anyone hear me?

[The Journal flickers to life as a stern figure appears.]

Greetings. Given your current apparel and your query, I can safely assume that you are new to Luceti.

I am Spock. May I inquire as to who you are?

[Now that the weather is starting to get warmer, Emil is taking advantage of this fact to spend more time outside whenever he can, usually in the form of walks through the village and the surrounding forest. It's on one of these walks that he just so happens to wander past the mysterious masked figure-- that's DEFINITELY enough to get his attention.

Not that he wouldn't stop to assist an obvious New Feather anyway, but he can't help but be curious about that mask.]

... hello?

No, none of us can hear you right now.

[And that was her smartass remark for the day. Hurrah!]

[Wait, this thing really did work? In a way he's glad he's not alone in this new environment, but he has to wonder exactly who he's talking to.]

Then this book really does record messages... Where exactly am I? And who am I speaking to?

[There's a long silence as Gin takes in this stranger and the information he's provided.

He has no idea who he can trust here right now. He doesn't answer that question right away, but decides since this Spock offered first he might as well let him know.]

Gin. My name is Gin.

Luceti... I've never heard of it. Do all people end up here like this? Do they all have these wings?

[Gin stands as he hears the voice, not expecting to see someone else in the forest so soon. He notes that he too seems to have small wings. Was that common here?

Well, naturally he'll keep his distance, but he stands his ground and regards him with an almost unnerving stare since his mask betrays no emotion.]

Hey. Are you a native here? Maybe you can tell me a bit about this place. And... what I'm doing here.

It is well to make your acquaintance Mister Gin. And in answer to your question, yes, all individuals who are brought here are given wings.

As to their purpose, there is much debate.

If you are amenable, I can come and collect you and guide you to the village.

[He interjects at the use of the title 'Mister'. As for the village... he is a little curious about it. While he'd seen glimpses of city life from his forest home he had never dared go too close to the heart of the place for fear he would end his life. Well, perhaps he could get a glimpse of it at least. He didn't necessarily have to enter it. Besides that he might be able to learn more about this Luceti and find a way out of here.

Still it seemed a little odd that he was the one feeling lost this time.]

I'd like to see it, if you can find me. This isn't the forest I grew up in. I don't know where the landmarks are.

Please lift your journal...and I will see where you are. [Spock was already making his way out of the door.]

[Because yeah, he figured everyone can hear the journals, but he is far too happy to have his voice back to let an opportunity to use it go to waste.]

[What did he mean by that? He knew the spirit and human worlds could be set apart, but somehow he didn't think that was what he was implying.]

So we're stuck here... [A pause to let that sink in.] How many are there trapped in this place?

[Lift it? Gin hesitated a little, unsure how a book could somehow project where he was but... well if this Spock says so. He raises the book, pointing it at the environment around him.]

...I haven't met many people to tell me. [His tone might be slightly somber at this point. But he lets it go after a moment's pause.]

Are all the people here this unwelcoming?

New feather? [Oh... maybe she was talking about his feathery new additions.] Well, these wings are definitely new if that's what you mean. What's going on? How did I get here?

[Come to think of it, if this happens to everyone who comes here, the responses are probably pretty similar. Wait...]

I need to know where I am, how I came here and why I've suddenly been brought here and given wings. That's all.

It doesn't take the Vulcan long to make it to Gin's location... at the sight of the masked man, Spock bows his head.]

Greetings, if you will follow me? [Spock gestures towards the way he came.]

Yeah... It can be kind of hard to get used to. I only knew of two worlds back home, but it turns out there's more and more and more all across existence. There are people here unlike any you'd ever meet back home.

There's a lot of people... maybe around three hundred?
