[Here Luceti, have another New Feather. A young man with silver wings, wearing a strange mask and with only the thin pants of the newcomers to protect him from the world is currently just waking up in the forest not too far from the village. If you could see his face you'd see just how groggy and confused he is right now. He flinches a little as he realises there's a couple of new additions to his body upon coming to... wherever he is right now, and he reaches behind him to feel... feathers? Wings?

Thankfully it isn't long before he realises his clothes are piled up beside him, along with a book. Gin knows it's dangerous to be so exposed and doesn't hesitate to put on those clothes, strangely altered to accommodate those small wings on his back. Who did this to him? Where was he? He was certain by now this wasn't the forest of the Mountain God, unless he was trying to play some kind of trick on him.

Now for that book... Gin picks it up, taking a seat on the forest floor where he appeared and taking a moment to flick through the pages. The book was full of messages and pictures, presumably the ones who were trying to communicate. Some of the images moved as well and there were voices... the book was speaking to him.]

[After taking some time to try to get to know this odd journal and how it might work, Gin ends up trying to speak to the book himself.]

Hello? Can anyone hear me?

[No, he hadn't heard of anything like that. At his next question he looks down.]

I'm not sure. I've never met anyone who claimed to be half human before. The Mountain God never mentioned it either. All I know is that if it's not okay, I won't have a second chance.

Whoever's doing this must have a strange sense of humour to give us wings that we can't fly with.

Well, I might as well settle in if I'm not going anywhere.

It is fortunate then that I 'go out of my way' to avoid touching and being touched by others.

[Spock quirked an eyebrow and gave Gin a wry smile.]

[That's quite a broad range of changes and Gin wonders how these Shifts are at all related if they could do anything from changing your thoughts and memories to warping you around.]

You say it's abrupt. Does that mean it can happen at any time? We don't get any warning?

[It's slightly terrifying really to think you could be fine one minute and not know what's going on the next.]

...I can't be around people so I live in the forest, with the spirits there. If a human touches me, I'll disappear.

[Gin's curious now. He has a reason to avoid people, a valid one too... so what about Spock?]

Not most of the shitty time, we don't. Some are annual and we expect them to happen, but others can happen whenever the hell the Malnosso feel like causing us grief.

Being in close contact with another for an extended period of time can be... draining. Emotions can sometimes be rather... loud.

That's probably a good idea unless you want to sleep outside. There's still lots of space, as far as I know.

Well, you have to contact them first. You should probably start with Nala-- she's really nice and will talk to just about anyone. All you have to do is just go outside and try to call for her with your mind.

[Okay, so granted, it might be a little easier for him than most other people because summon spirit.]

[Since the flood of New Feathers, Tsuna's been wandering the forest in hopes of seeing someone from his world. So far, it's been no go, but he's too desperate for a familiar face to stop. Today marks the nth day of that desperation.]

Aaaaaah, it's no good, Nuts... [Cue seemingly crazy mutterings to his ring, AKA his pet Nuts' other form.] Still just you and me...

[He sighs and switches directions, suddenly coming face to face with a mask.]

GYAAAAH--[He backs up quickly in surprise, tripping over a rock and falling flat on his butt. H-hiiiiiii, no one told him there were yokai here!!!]

[Gin had never heard of a touch telepath before, but from the sound of it, it wasn't something he would enjoy. It sounded more of a burden than anything...]

Don't you find it difficult being so... apart from others?

It was how I was raised, and I am as they say...used to it. What of yourself?

[It sounded simple enough. Whether or not it would work, he wouldn't know until he tried. He nods.]

[Having someone suddenly step out right in front of him is enough to startle Gin too and he flinches back a little as... the stranger falls back over a rock.

He might try and help him up but... well, he looks pretty human at first glance. So instead he just watches him, that mask betraying none of his emotions beneath the surface.]

[Though he certainly doesn't sound all that happy about it. Still, no point on dwelling on things.]

Well, it can't be helped. I need to concentrate on getting home for now.

They already have no form of currency here which makes things easier for us as well, so... [the communication helping out would make sense too. maybe. or something.]

[He is rather human, thank you. It's nice to be acknowledged for that.]

[It seems odd that a settlement would be built with that much freedom in mind. But he shouldn't complain, it would make things a lot easier for him when it comes to taking what he needs.]

[Nobody else he'd spoken to thus far seemed to have any idea about them from what he'd gathered. In that case, perhaps they were even from the same world. Despite his condition that was... somehow reassuring.
